Two eagles--autumn cove.

Just as the sun was about to set, I was finishing a hike along a favorite cove along Bull Run stream when I decided to survey the cove with binoculars. Two eagles were spotted and appeared to have taken a perch for the evening, so I retrieved the tripod, a 750 mm zoom and shot until the sun set behind the ridges. The eagles (one adult and one young brownish) are visible in upper left quadrant-easier seen at X3 size. A rare, albino Red-tailed Hawk. Came across this hawk from a distance and could not tell what kind of bird it was until driving much closer. Then I was able to take photos for about 20 minutes, while parked under the tree shooting through the sun roof, before he flew off.

Two autumn pods---together.

Wendy, our 23-year old cockatiel, enjoying hair styling my younger daughter on Thanksgiving Day. Or maybe early nesting....:). Being a hand-fed baby, she is "human" and loves to be held, petted and snuggles .
